Gibraltar
I was excited to get off the ship today and go see the famous Rock of Gibraltar! I stepped outside and >whoa!< was it cold! And windy! I packed for the summer and only brought 2 sweaters and 2 pairs of jeans – guess I'll be layering up. I looked slightly ridiculous, but I was warm. I received information from the front desk that if I didn't want to take a taxi to the top of the rock (it was very expensive for one person), I could take a cable car up. Well, that sounded much more fun than a taxi anyway! And at the top – in addition to the amazing views – I would see the caves (similar to Carlsbad Caverns, with stalagmites and stalactites, and monkeys! I walked into town to warm up and see the town. As I got half way through Main Street, I saw handwritten signs stuck on the billboards for the cable car that said it was closed – due to high winds. Are you kidding???? BOO! So what did I do? I shopped. Ha! Well, I did a bit more sightseeing, had some lunch, and got on the internet for a minute. I ran into my fellow castmate, Kris, and we hit the HUGE grocery store and stocked up on crap – yummy crap.
Well, technically I was on the Rock (Main Street is at the bottom of the Rock), and I heard only a couple of monkeys were out because it was too cold. I did see a kitty! I guess that was all I really needed ;)
BTW - Happy Friday the 13th!!!!! HahahhaaaahaHaaaaaaa!
