Shizuoka
Today was a busy travel day because it is a holiday weekend here (which holiday, I'm not sure). The train station is PACKED with people.
Many people waiting for the Shinkansen train
Lots of families
Pikachu & friends on Shinkansen
Kunpei trying to keep people from stepping on his bass
We arrived in Shizuoka around noon. Shizuoka is a city right at the base of Mt. Fuji...which we cannot see because it is overcast =( This happened last year as well. We did get a short thunderstorm, but the sun is out again +) Hooray!
Hotel pond & garden
We are staying at the same hotel as last year. It's very nice and has this big garden with a pond and koi and a bridge....too bad my room faces the street! We are in double occupancy rooms and that means we get a bigger bed, and two (count them, 2!) bath towels!
Big bed with TWO pillows!

Our show tonight was in the club attached to this hotel. It's called Life Time. The club is very nice - probably the nicest one we've been in. After sound check, we were treated to an authentic Japanese dinner. This is what it looked like:
The tea is the best! Most of the tea in Japan is made from here, so you know it's the best. Now a pause while I slurp some of said tea.....
OK. Our show went well tonight, a very nice house. We have a sax joining us for our last 2 performances, and it is so nice to have that sound in our songs. Sometimes the band guys forget that we are singing and play a little too "flourishy" under our harmonies, but most of the time it's wonderful. And they are wonderful! Really awesome.
Life Time Club
The view of club from my perspective
The thing that is annoying is that they still smoke in clubs. Most of the clubs don't allow smoking during the show, but they can smoke in the same place before and after.... Our show tomorrow is supposed to be smoke free - HALLELUJAH!
Word of the day: ITADAKIMASU (said before every meal, no exact translation, but basically means 'enjoy your meal')
