Osaka
**I realized I didn't post a word of the day last post. So Osaka will have 2**
We had time to kill this morning before our train left Wakayama, so I headed back to Wakayama Castle to see more of the grounds and to go back and visit the animals! +)
It was just me and a bunch of moms and their kids - one of which was afraid of me (big eyed tall woman!). I still hate that the animal enclosures are too small, but it seems the workers care about them.
These are the most bizarre animals - a Cavy. It looks like a cross between a cat, a jack rabbit, and a small deer
Little boy watching the Cavys being fed
Male peacock, strutting his stuff
Pig chowing down at feeding time - it looks like my parent's pig, Rosie!
I found a pretty little garden on one side of the castle. There was a flower bed that several pretty blue butterflies were flying around. I followed one - trying to get a shot of him with his wings open.
Blue butterfly
A rare specimen...
So now I am back in Osaka, staying at a hotel I've never stayed at, and I absolutely love it! For one, I have a full size bed! Woo hoo! And two, my room is very nice.
Kara and I took a walk before sound check and had lunch at this cute diner-type place, where you choose your meal from a vending-type machine (the buttons have pictures of meals on them), pay for it there, then sit down at the counter, give the "waiter" your ticket, and they bring the food out to you - cool!
"Vending" machine
I had cold buckwheat noodles and sauce.
On the way back to our hotel, it got very cloudy and started to thunder. Now it is pouring down rain!
I hope we have people at our show tonight....
Word of the day #1: OISHII (yummy)
