Shizuoka - day 2

Konnichiwa!
It's day 2 in Shizuoka, and I slept in (til 8:30), and now have until 5pm to myself! I met up with Dina and Yoshi to view the Bridal Expo that was happening at our hotel. It was very interesting and neat. They had a fake wedding with a fake bride and groom (dressed Western style - as in the US/Canada...etc), so prospective couples could imagine what their wedding would be like. The owner of the hotel took us around to all the rooms set up for reception, and we viewed samples of cake, gifts, and tea. Very interesting. They also had traditional wedding attire displayed. Our hotel was occupied/inhabited by a great shogun who fled Tokyo and lived in Shizuoka til his death. There's more to the story, but that was all I got.

After, Diwa and I exchanged money (for a good price too!) nearby, then I showed her the great grocery store Ted helped me find. The Okinawa festival was going on again (just like yesterday). This time they had all the kids performing routines for a judge. Some were pretty good! There were a lot of people out and about.

These people had 5 puppies for their kids - so kawaii (cute)!

Our last show went ok overall. Our first set was a challenge - sound-wise and tired-wise. The audiences were great and we gals each received a beautiful bouquet of roses at the end of our show. Sweet!

Then we all changed to more comfortable clothes (seriously), and were treated to food and drinks across the street.

It's been great to be in Japan again and I am so lucky to have performed with such magnificent musicians - and that includes Dina & Kara. That being said, I am ready to get home to my fur babes!
