Nagoya

Train ride to Nagoya

Dina and her Dt.Coke addiction are OUT OF CONTROL!

Ohayo! Good Morning!
We had our first show last night and it went pretty well. We performed in this cool little jazz club that was full of antiques - very eclectic and charming. Our audience was very small (a handful of people) but very appreciative and we couldn't have asked for a better opening. This was a first for all of us (Dina, Kara, and I AND our trio guys) to perform together, so having a small audience took the pressure off of being "perfect".

Our changing room/green room was this tiny storage bin behind the club. You can't tell, but we were really squished!

Performance shot....they still drink Zima here?

After our show, a friend of our promoter took us out to eat at a sushi restaurant. I was treated to a vegetarian feast, while the rest had fresh (and I mean FRESH - as in they kill the fish RIGHT THERE) sashimi. I averted my eyes during the sacrifice...and I survived. I have comfort in knowing the fish is swimming away in heaven....lol.

The AMAZING trio that is playing with us: Kunpei (bass), Kazu (piano), and Taki (drums)

I didn't really get to explore this town (no real time). What I can tell from my taxi ride from the station and my hotel room, is that Nagoya is a big, metropolis city near the base of Mt Fuji (which we can't see because it's too smoggy...or is it overcast?). I did have a beautiful view this morning of a lone small bird outside my hotel window flying and gliding on wind currents. Sweet!
