Land HO!
YEA! We are finally on land! I just don't enjoy sea days so much – not 6 in a row. At least we have been distracted by rehearsal. We had a short Welcome Aboard reception this morning with the captain and all the new crew, and after that – off the ship!!!! We are in St. John, Antigua, a nice little island. We (all the cast except Paul, who was on an excursion) walked through town and were bombarded with taxi drivers wanting to take us to the beach and ladies wanting to braid our hair – good to see the Caribbean hasn't changed since I was here last! It's kind of obnoxious because there are so many. We did make it out to the road and stopped in a drug store for -what? - McVities Tea Biscuits!!! My favorite!! And some water for the beach +) We found a taxi driver that took us to a nearby beach (it was part of the Sandals resort), but it was a beach with white sand and water!!! I got out of my dress so fast and ran into the water...it was soooooooooooo nice. We stayed there for 3 hours. I saw a wedding on the beach, older men walking around with strange tans, and an older woman with a belly ring, and several lizards of all lengths. We also had a little lunch at a restaurant on the beach and used their free wifi. Why is no one ever home when I call?? Lol It was awesome. On the way home we had the cab driver stop at a grocery store, and I bought a jar of peanut butter and more McVities biscuits. I finished my evening sitting on the pier using free wifi, while looking at our ship. What a great day ~
