BEQUIA, ST VINCENT & THE GRENADINES

Our first port to tender into! We tender into a destination when the ship can't dock into the port. We anchor at sea, lower 2 of our lifeboats (which double as the tenders), and boat into shore. It's only about a 5 minute boat ride. Today I got to escort my first tour! Basically all I do is go along the tour and make sure everything happens that is supposed to, and if anyone has any problems, I am there. Basically, I get a free tour! The tour today was a long one with a few destination around the island (historical sites and such). It was nice, but the best part was saved for last (aren't they always??) - the turtle farm!! This little place rescues injured and other turtles. It also breeds them to bring the population up again (they are eaten in these parts). They were so beautiful!! I got friendly with the one that lost one of it's...arms (?). The farm was located on a kind of farm, and they had chickens and all sorts of animals. Definitely the highlight of the trip!
