Opera Show
We opened our opera show tonight and it went wonderfully well (aside from me having to run around the ship during the show – in my gown and heels - to get to the sound booth and let them know we didn't have monitors on stage)! After spending the last couple of days cramming in all that Italian, it seemed to have payed off. We received a standing ovation from pretty much the whole room. I believe that this was the show the passengers were most looking forward to. There were even a couple of guests that said they would book again just to come back and see us :)
Before our show that evening, Kris and I had to dress up in “Venetian” costumes – complete with masks, to welcome people to the Captain's cocktail reception. The costumes are beautiful – and heavy – but it was fun (though next time I will wear more comfortable heels – my feet were killing me from standing so long). The captain even had us come on stage and pose during his speech. After the reception, Kris & I went into both dining rooms and serenaded guests guests with an aria (a capella) each. I think that was the most fun.
