Cairns, Australia - Day 1

I love this place! It's so beautiful! And I like that it is the port you go to the Great Barrier Reef from. Our first day I escorted a tour to the Botanical Gardens and then to a very nice resort beach city, Palm Cove.

I know I got a bit carried away with the flowers and the plants, but they were so cool, beautiful and interesting. Here's some more from my walk in the gardens:

If you look at the top of the picture, you can see some rope strung across the road. It is actually a rope ladder for possums and other animals to cross the road without getting hit. Pretty thoughtful :)

In the evening, a few of the cast and I went out to dinner on the boardwalk and then walked around town:
