First Day of Rehearsal

Today was our first day of rehearsal! I woke up early enough to get a work out in, before we all had to meet in the lobby. After sorting out who was driving, we all caravaned to our rehearsal space 5 minutes away. All 4 ships are rehearsing together, so there were 24 of us plus 4 producers. We all got to know each other, and everyone seemed pretty nice. After a welcome and general information from management, we had to break up into our ships and from there into parts. There are only 6 of us per ship: 3 guys, 3 girls. Unfortunately, 2 of us gals are sopranos. I believe I am the higher soprano, but the other gal said she's horrible at learning harmonies...so I have to sing second soprano =( The good thing is I can do it and it will be a nice challenge, but bad because I won't be singing where my voice lives. I will fight to alternate with her for the opera stuff though, since I am a coloratura ;)

So today, we learned most of our 1st show: Abbalicious - the music of ABBA. I do enjoy ABBA and the arrangements are good, and I lucked out that 2nd sop sings melody a lot - and even higher than 1st soprano in some songs. Those few low notes...those just kill me - lol.
