First show - Echizen
I had a couple firsts today - first the good:
I rode my first Shinkansen!!! That's the bullet train they have here that goes really really fast. It was fun =) It's similar to a regular train except much nicer, you have assigned seats (with lots of legroom), and it has restrooms (hooray!), AND it gets you where you need to go in about half the time of a regular train. Nice!
After traveling for most of the day, we arrived at our destination, Echizen, walked out of the train station, and right into our hotel! It is literally right next door to the train station. Echizen looks like a pretty town. It's small, very green (lots of trees), with beautiful mountains surrounding it. I am sad that I won't get to explore because we leave very early in the morning (and our show ended at 8 tonight).
Now the bad:
Our show =(
The band was tentative which wasn't a good backing for us singers, and with a newbie singer this year, it really made it difficult for us. About half the band is new as well and we found out (after the show) that they didn't get through all of the music on our one day of rehearsal in the states. So this was basically our dress rehearsal. Well, it can only get better!
maybe if we had one of these, it would have helped!
Now, for my little bottle of plum wine, and then to bed. Gotta be downstairs ready to go at 6:45 am.....uh!
Oyasumi nasai!
