We Will Rock You
I went and saw We Will Rock You last night (Aussie cast). Now, I love Queen, but I really did not like this show. I expected the book to be weak (ala Mamma Mia), and basically a small thread to weave all the songs together. The book was even weaker than I thought! It never really resolved itself, and basically turned into a concert version of the show at the end! Bad! I did like the 2 lead singers, they were very good. Everyone else...just there.
Afterwards, my friend, Dan, took me to this neat authentic Japanese restaurant (the kind where you have to take off your shoes). The restaurant had a small wrap-around bar (ala sushi bar - but this was yakatori style, not sushi), and the rest of the place was divided into small cell-block type rooms (but in a good way), so that you could dine with people in semi-privacy. The place was very zen-like and had rock gardens running throughout - very cool. AND I had the best fresh tofu!! It also came in handy that Dan speaks Japanese because not a lick of English was spoken (except maybe between the two of us...lol). New experiences, new fun.
