ORANJESTAD, ARUBA

We arrived in Aruba today to pouring rain. By the time I had finished breakfast, the rain had stopped and the weather was pleasant (and very humid). Aruba, I found out, is a Dutch Caribbean island (that's why many signs were in German...) and is known for it's beaches, but we aren't docked near any. LOL. After our Bomb Drill (which our group found the dummy bomb), we were free to explore the island – for just over an hour (we are docked here a short time and leave at 1pm). Aruba has a TON of jewelery stores. I mean every other store sells jewelery! But I did see some familiar names: Valero Gas station, Pizza Hut, Coach, Armani, Guess.....STARBUCKS!! Yes, I found a Starbucks and waited 15 minutes for an iced soy chai – yum!! I had to walk back to the ship after that. No time for much else. I do wish we were staying longer, I would have liked to explore.
