The Angry Housekeeper
I have had the last couple of days off and I have been staying up late and sleeping in. Housekeeping usually comes between 9 and 11. I don't wake until about noon. The first week was fine - I lock my door, they knock and can't get in, and then go away. I would put a 'Do Not Disturb' sign out, but my room didn't come with one.
Well TODAY, I had the most obnoxious, persistant housekeeper! She started banging on my door with her keys before 9am - and not just a knock knock knock - she pounded on my door with her keys for a good 15 seconds, and repeatedly tried to open my door! She finally left, but was back about a half hour later doing the same thing!!! You think she would have given up. Meanwhile, I'm trying to sleep!
After her second failed attempt, I heard her cleaning the room next door. Instead of propping the door open like the rest of the housekeepers, she let it slam continually as she went in and out. What's bad about that is that the walls here are so thin, that when a door shuts, it shakes the whole room - and she did this several times. A little while later I heard her vacuuming, and she was banging that thing into the wall or furniture - I couldn't tell which. Finally she finishes and everything gets quiet....and I fall back asleep. Usually in hotels, if you keep your room locked or have a sign out, they will call and ask if you want service that day. Not my housekeeper! I guess she was having a bad day and taking it out on my door and the walls.
When I finally got up and dressed and left my room, you know what was hanging on my door? A 'Do Not Disturb' sign!
