Le Ombre

I am currently in Atlantic City working in a new show for Harrah's - Le Ombre. It's a shadow art show with acrobats, dancers, and singers. I have to say - it's pretty amazing. These kids (and they are kids - most of them in their early 20's) are just incredible. They form shapes and words with their bodies behind a scrim (in silhouette) and sometimes they dance in front of the screen. **click the link above for more info** Kelly Rice and I are the singers. We just opened Valentine's weekend and we perform again the 17th - 20th. Our first show was just ok for me (we had done 3 "shows" before our opening night), but as we progressed through the weekend, I felt more comfortable and slammed it all home =)

Atlantic City has been cold, but not snowy, and honestly, I didn't go out side until I had been here almost a week (and that was to get in a car to go downtown)! The air in the casino is what you might expect - smokey and old. I really wish the window in my room would open. At least my floor is non-smoking (though the people next door were smoking pot the first evening I was here, and it woke me up ;p).

We have access to food 24 hours a day - in the casino cafeteria. Not a whole lot of choice (for me), but I did bring salad dressing and that has saved me. What sucks is that we have to walk a ways through the casino (through the smoke) to get to the cafeteria. I have been eating a lot of salads, chips & salsa, and crackers - lol. I have been lucky enough to get out of this area and go out to eat downtown - with delicious real food!

All in all, this has been a great experience so far, and I am enjoying the down time (but missing my furballs).

Dinner with Nicole's family (Nicole & Mark are the husband & wife creators of Le Ombre). Kelly & I are on the end. What a treat!
