And another thing....
I hope everyone had a happy Easter (those of you that celebrate it)! Easter isn't celebrated her, so my day was uneventful. It has been raining again, at least this time it wasn't on my day off. This week Davis and I went to Hibiya and Hiro-o. In Hibiya, we planned on going to the American Pharmacy. We couldn't find the building, so we asked in our broken Japanese where it was, and a woman pointed us in the direction and said something like "block", and when we verified what she said, she shook her head and said "broke", and pointed to an empty lot with cranes. Building broke....lol! The building was gone! Torn down! LOL
We got back on the subway and headed to Hiro-o, a city where a lot of westerners live (basically anyone that isn't asian or japanese). We found this beautiful park with a pond (with mallard ducks!), a waterfall, a small bridge, and a kid's park at the top. I made Davis sea-saw with me. Right across the street from the park was a big grocery store with english writing, so I dragged Davis in. Boy was I glad I did! I found vegan veggie burgers, hummus, and natural peanut butter!!! Oh so happy happy!!! I found many other things that are hard/impossible to find here. It made my day!! +) After shopping and walking around, we found a great Indian restaurant that I could eat at - and that made one great day in Japan for me! It's the little things, ya know.
Just to close, I have to talk again about the Japanese toilets. I REALLY dislike the squatters (I still get stuck using those sometimes), but I really like the fancy shmancy western toilets they have here. The high tech ones have all these cool buttons on the side that make music or running water sounds to drown out your noises (LOL); there's a bidet button (haven't been brave enough to use that one yet); and my favorite, the seat warmer! I really like sitting on a hot potty!! I do! LOL!!!
I will end with that. Love to all!!
